Up, up and away!

WE HAVE LIFT OFF!

It's so exciting having a small patch to call my own and to get some food growing. I feel, and am acting a bit like the little boy in the new Waitrose ad!  http://vimeo.com/90988898

After much deliberation, and some guidance from organicgarden.org.uk to enable me to make the most of my little plot, and get some variety, I chose my seeds...

Mangetout, turnips, Chantenay carrots (shorter, sweeter and great for roasting, in my cooking experience), perpetual spinach, beetroot (I can use the leaves for salad too!), spring onions, little gem lettuce, dwarf beans and rocket. I've also got marigolds and nasturtiums to promote the right bugs to eat the wrong ones! Nasturtiums will add colour to a salad too.

So now, we just need to water, protect and wait, wait, wait...
