Chocolate filled carrots??!!
I'm thinking about April already so that I can prepare an Easter workshop locally. I found this fab idea for treat boxes (made with card) on pinterest and have adapted it with felt so that it can be re-used again and again... vintage carrots in 2040! 😉
First I made a template to suit my requirements. It took a while to get my head around, but I got there in the end without the need for a protractor (despite having searched high and low for one before this!).
I chose kids craft felt which is a bit stiffer and was easier to fold and crease. This helped when I ironed the creases in...
I used strong all purpose glue to stick the tab to the other side of the carrot to form a carrot shape...
Then I just needed some holes punched on two opposite flaps...
...and some green ribbon pulled through. I have green gingham at home, but any green will do to represent the carrot tops.
Fill your carrot with goodies and tie up the ribbon, adding a second piece of ribbon after the first knot.
There! A carrot treat box for your Easter visitors. Don't tell the Easter Bunny!!! 🐰 🥕🥕🥕
I'll be sharing how to make these along with other Easter crafts at my workshops, so if you live in East Kent UK, let me know if you'd like the info. Coffee and cake as standard of course!! DM me below or email cygninicrafts@gmail.com.
If you're not that close, I will soon be organising downloadable patterns, so let me know via email if you'd like to find out when they go live. Also watch out for more craft posts! #cygninicrafts
Please let me know what you think of my ideas and if you try them! Happy crafting!

Update 8.2.19
Am dropping in a photo of Velcro... realised that the felt is softer than card so the eggs can get away if it's lifted at the wrong angle. Pop some Velcro - I used sticky Velcro, but would add a stitch to ensure it doesn't come away from the felt if pulled by an eager child - onto the non-punched flaps to seal.
What worked for me was sticking onto the inner of once flap, and then attaching the opposite Velcro to that first piece of Velcro. Fold over and then push and stick in place to the other flap (hope that makes sense!). It just means you get them lined up perfectly rather than trying to stick each piece separately.
Oh, and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss a post! I'm on a crafting journey and would love to have you with me!
